Investment: Free to register — donations accepted at the door
Step onto your mat with intention and take part in this opportunity to move, reflect, and give through a donation-based class benefitting Camp Al-Jawad, a grassroots educational and relief initiative serving displaced children in Gaza. This session, co-facilitated by Indigenous wellness practitioners Vina Brown and Anna Leigh Brady of Rooted Resiliency, will include an opening meditation, a liberation-themed reading, an accessible yoga practice blending flow and restorative postures, and a closing space for collective grounding and care. All levels are welcome.
Camp Al-Jawad is a volunteer-run education and support camp serving children whose schools have been destroyed in Gaza. In addition to offering free education, psychological support, and creative activities, the camp helps meet urgent needs by providing essentials such as school supplies, food, water, clothing, and small gifts like toys. Due to the closure of border crossings, access to basic resources has become increasingly difficult and costly. The camp is named after “Al-Jawad,” one of the 99 names of God in Islam, meaning “The Most Generous” — a name that also evokes the Arabic word for horse, a symbol of strength and endurance.
Donations will be collected at the door in the form of cash, venmo, and credit card with 100% of proceeds going directly to Camp Al-Jawad. Pre-registration is highly recommended. To donate online, use the organization’s GoFundMe or PayPal links.
