What is Ayurvedic Wellness?

Ayurveda, the 5,000 year old healing system, offers a proven guide for a life of happiness, vitality, love and purpose. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) and veda(science or knowledge). Thus, Ayurveda translates to knowledge of life. Based on the idea that disease is due to an imbalance or stress in a person's consciousness, Ayurveda encourages certain lifestyle interventions and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, spirit, and the environment. Pillars of health in Ayurveda include:

  • Optimal Nutrition looking at specific foods to balance each mind/body type (also known as doshas)

  • Restful Sleep

  • Meditation

  • Mindful movement

  • Emotion well-being

  • Stress management

  • Breathing practices
