Ayurvedic Foundations Immersion: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Living

with Leah Adams

November 14 - 16, 2025

Join Leah Adams this November to explore the foundational teachings of Ayurveda, the 5,000-year-old “Science of Life” that offers practical tools for living in balance with nature. Rooted in the Rasayana (rejuvenative) tradition, this weekend immersion offers a grounded, modern approach to Ayurveda’s timeless wisdom. Together, we’ll study the elements, doshas, and tissues of the body while gaining insight into our unique constitutions and how to support health through yogic lifestyle, seasonal awareness, and self-inquiry. Through this immersive study, you’ll deepen your ability to care for yourself and others with greater presence, clarity, and skill.

Topics Covered:

• Ayurvedic Foundations •
Learn the core principles of Ayurveda and the Theory of Panchamahabhutas — the five great elements that form the basis of this holistic system.

• Constitution & Health •
Explore the concepts of Prakriti (innate constitution) and Vikriti (current imbalance), and what it means to cultivate Swasthya (optimal health).

• Dosha Sites •
Identify the primary areas in the body where the three doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — reside, and understand their role and influence.

• The Seven Tissues (Dhatus) •
Gain insight into the body’s seven tissue layers and their role in supporting vitality, stability, and overall well-being.

• Balancing the Doshas •
Study the unique attributes, functions, and signs & causes of imbalance for each of the doshas. Explore techniques for restoring balance through nutrition, lifestyle, and yogic practices.

Who is This For?

This immersion is open to anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of Ayurveda and how to integrate its wisdom into daily life. It’s especially supportive for yoga teachers who want to deepen their personal self-study and expand their capacity to skillfully hold space for others. By learning to recognize patterns of imbalance in ourselves, our students, and the world around us, we build resilience and strengthen our ability to meet each season — and each moment — with greater clarity and presence. As one of Leah’s early teachers said "when you nurture where you are, you get where you want to go."

There are a total of 17 CEUs available for registered yoga teachers to apply toward BYC’s 300-Hr Advanced Yoga Studies Program or Yoga Alliance continuing education hours.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Registration for all events, including trainings and immersion workshops, is non-refundable. However, if you cannot attend, you may transfer your spot to another person by contacting us via phone, email, or in person.

We understand that plans can change, but our no-refund policy helps us maintain the quality and sustainability of our offerings. Organizing events requires significant time, effort, and resources from both the studio and our teachers. In addition, many of our trainings & workshops have limited spacing — last-minute cancellations not only prevent others from attending, but also affect the viability of the event for our dedicated instructors. As a small, local business, your understanding and cooperation not only helps us support our teachers, but also allows us to continue providing enriching experiences for our community!
