Weaving Fire & Water: Yin Yoga and the Meridian Body

with Leah Adams & Dr. Eric Baumgartner

Sunday | June 28

12:30 - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Granary Ave Studio

Investment: $55

Long before modern medicine had language for the nervous system, ancient practitioners meticulously mapped the body’s inner landscape — identifying key indicators of lasting wellbeing and scientific methods for restoring balance. In this workshop, we’ll examine the relationship between the Fire and Water elements in the context of classical Chinese Medicine, exploring the Heart–Kidney connection alongside other primary meridian pathways and what they teach us about clarity, protection, and resilience.

Through a 60-minute guided Yin practice, we’ll learn to relate to the body as a fluid, fascial network, while experiencing first-hand the benefits of practicing and healing in community. Following our practice, a facilitated discussion will dive deeper into how the role of Yin practices offer a grounded and immediate antidote to modern overstimulation, as well as empower you with tools for self-regulation and nervous system support. This time-honored approach is practical, embodied, and immediately usable for practitioners and teachers at all levels.

Topics Explored:

• Fire–Water dynamics & the Heart–Kidney axis through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine
• Six key meridian pathways: Heart, Small Intestine, Pericardium, San Jiao, Kidney, and Urinary Bladder
• Our body’s energetic channels in relation to themes of clarity, protection, rest & resilience
• Yin yoga practice as a tool for neuro-endocrine & nervous system balance in a yang-dominant culture
